Holiday Season
How early do you start decorating for the holidays? It seems like everyone has a different rule, just after Thanksgiving, first weekend in December, just before Christmas. . . I for one can't wait to put up the tree and some twinkle lights.

Interior of the Week
The contrasts in this room from the November Lonny magazine are just lovely. I'm also a sucker for a woven shade.

It's always nice to have a holiday and a break from work. I hope everyone else in the US is having a lovely Thanksgiving and holiday weekend.

Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga Class
Would you sign up for a stand-up paddleboard yoga class? This WSJ article by Jen Murphy discusses the details of a class near Isle of Palms in South Carolina, close to Charleston. Now that's the way to shake up a workout routine. . .

Interior of the Week
I love the simplicity of Jenny Komenda's interior designs, she manages to take away all the pretentiousness of design and fills interiors with artwork, color, and simple furnishings. It's always nice when a decorator pulls a space together, instead of just starting from scratch.

Loving the Etsy shop of Kari Herer, her botanical photography avoids being twee and is moody and striking instead.

Pumpkin Pie Almonds
I've been busy planning for a trip to Indian Wells, four months from now, in March. Hopefully trip planning around a tennis tournament will get easier with experience. . .
This recipe for pumpkin pie almonds has been in my Pinterest folder for awhile now and I finally have all the ingredients. 'Tis the Season!

Thinking About: Sutton Sofette
Although I was leaning toward the Lorimer sofa a few months ago. . . I ended up ordering the Sutton Sofette. It has more versatility and can be used in many other rooms when I have a bigger place and need a bigger sofa. I also love the new fabric swatches at West Elm and ordered the ink blue velvet, very soft and cozy. I can't wait for it to arrive!
Have you looked at the book "Good Bones, Great Pieces: The Seven Essential Pieces That Will Carry You Through a Lifetime"? One of the suggested pieces is a loveseat. It's perfect for small living rooms, at the foot of the bed, nurseries, even entryways. As someone that loves to move furniture around and mix it up, flexibility is key.

I'm still tracking down all the pieces to pull my living room together. It definitely takes time and finesse to make a room cozy, but not cluttered.

On My Radar: Little Blue Dress
I know the little black dress gets all the attention, but a blue dress can be just as versatile. It's an easy way to stick out of the crowd in a simple, but striking, way.
