Kinder Surprise Egg Proposal

How amazing is this Kinder Suprise Chocolate egg proposal?

"April 9th marks the 9th anniversary of our awesomely creative (and geeky) engagement. Matthew had been up late “working” for many nights, which is the norm, but this time his real reason for burning the midnight oil was this incredible creation.

We used to buy Kinder Surprise Egg candies for each other all the time. If you aren’t familiar, it is a chocolate egg that contains a tiny, whimsical toy with assembly instructions inside. They are so much fun — maybe too much fun — sadly, the US banned them from import a few years ago.

Matthew painstakingly took apart the chocolate egg and replaced the toy inside with a small robot figure and illustrated instructions on how to assemble him into a tiny MatthewBot on bended knee. Also inside was my amazing ring! He then reassembled and rewrapped the egg to look virtually untouched.

Obviously, I said yes." -Lori

Wedding Cake

Who doesn't love wedding cake?  Nothing is more disappointing than a wedding that skips the cake.

Here are a few of my favorites from Pinterest. . .

Kristi Bonnici Bridal Accessories

I love bridal veils; they can make any dress into a wedding dress and add such an old-fashioned charm to a wedding.  These gorgeous veils are from Australian designer Kristi Bonnici.

Wedding Dresses

Wouldn't these Tibi dresses be lovely unconventional wedding dresses?
Perfect for a casual backyard wedding.

Congrats to the royal couple!  I can't wait to see her dress and hear the groom's toast.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Satomi Kawakita

I love this pearl ring, it would make a lovely wedding band (albeit impractically delicate.)

BHLDN

I'm a little late on the bandwagon, but I thought I would post some of my favorites from Anthropologie's new wedding collection, BHLDN (pronounced beholden).
It's just too sweet to resist...

A Cup of Jo: Signet Wedding Ring

I love reading Joanna's blog; she is so sweet and has fantastic taste.  I also love that she is always looking for wedding dresses and wedding rings just because (so I'm not the only one.)

On her blog she posted this gorgeous signet ring with the idea of putting your new initials (if you take his last name.)  I think it would be simply adorable.

Dream Wedding Ring

I think this St. Kilda would be the perfect wedding ring.  It's so sweet in its simplicity.

Whoops... new wedding dress

Well, it's finals week and I'm totally stressed out.  I even gave myself a cold (I don't think the studio environment filled with sniffling people helped.)  So, I came home to regroup and found myself looking at wedding dresses again, this seems to be a problem even though I have no desire to actually get married for years to come.  Oh well, here's the newest contender, with a sort of ballet inspired flair.  Funny thing, it's actually the same designer as my previous favorite, Pattis, but I found this one on Project Wedding instead of Kleinfeld's website.

Wedding... again

Another facet of my ideal wedding would be the veil.  I've always dreamed of a long dramatic lace veil or a simple, vintage-appealing birdcage veil.  I stumbled across this website where a woman, Dorene, custom makes birdcage veils; the bride helps customize the shape, color, length, everything.

Side note: my ideal wedding also includes the vows that Ross and Emily took in their wedding on the fourth season finale of Friends, I transcribed them if anyone cares... ;)

My Current Wedding Dress

As a girl that loves dresses, that's also obsessed with Say Yes to the Dress on TLC, I tend to pick out wedding dresses even though I'm not even close to getting married.

My current favorite is by Pattis. It has tulle galore and looks completely delectable. I'm so in love with it that I would forgo my ideal destination wedding to Puerto Rico, just to wear this dress in a fantastic ballroom.
