Park City Yoga Adventures

I've been interested in doing a stand-up paddle board yoga session since I read this WSJ article last November. Well, it turns out that in landlocked Utah, Park City Yoga Adventures offers paddle board yoga in a hot spring within a cave! What an incredible, yet slightly terrifying, experience, no?

January Resolutions

I love the fresh start of a new year, all the ideas of grandeur and the hopes to be a happier and brighter person.  Last year was full of big changes: graduating from school again, getting my first real job, and moving to my own apartment in the city.

But I find that it's the little things that really change your day to day perspective and make for a happier life.  Last year I kept track of a little 'Happiness Project' with a few small goals each month, such as, making salsa verde or starting tennis lessons again.  I thought I would do the same this year.

Here's to 2013!

Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga Class

Would you sign up for a stand-up paddleboard yoga class?  This WSJ article by Jen Murphy discusses the details of a class near Isle of Palms in South Carolina, close to Charleston.  Now that's the way to shake up a workout routine. . .

The Dailey Method

My Living Social e-mail this morning just happened to include three ballet barre classes for $25.  I decided to take a chance and try out The Dailey Method's new studio in Salt Lake City.  I've heard you should do a class the day right after your first class to help mitigate soreness.  We'll see how it goes. . .

Happiness

After watching the documentary Happy on Netflix (Joanna's recommendation), I naturally felt the need to assess what I could do to increase my happiness.  Following the advice for physical activity and self-improvement I would love to prioritize taking tennis lessons, yoga classes, and possibly trying ballet barre.  For more social activities: tennis socials, volunteering, and dinners with friends.

Mostly, I need to minimize my clothes wishlist and think more about experiences, such as traveling.  I can't wait to travel to far off countries and experience all 50 states.  I would also love to check more things off my Mighty Life List.

What makes you happy?  I'd love to hear.

Mara Hoffman

I love swimsuits and tunics, even though I can count the number of times I go swimming each year on one hand.  Mara Hoffman has such unique prints.

Now I just need to keep up with my 30 Day Shred, I'm on day 7.

Amphipod

I'm feeling ambitious this June; I finally got my first Etsy listings posted and I've got a few things up my sleeve for this month.  This feeling usually doesn't last long, but it's a nice change of pace.

Side effect of ambition: looking at unnecessary exercise gear... like this handheld water bottle for running.  It's really cool and completely unneeded.

Fashion Muse: Jane Fonda

My resolution for 2011 is to be more fit, both mentally and physically.  What better way to do this than yoga and meditation?  This photo of Jane Fonda is ridiculously cute, she is a crazy woman that still looks amazing in her 70's and I'm guessing her dedication to taking care of herself is a good part of the reason.

So here's to a great 2011...

If I were brave...

I would ride this Linus Bike around Salt Lake City, but alas the bike lanes frighten me and don't even get me started on intersections.

Ballet Conditioning

I never really wanted to be a ballerina.  But, lately I've really been loving the ballerina style and fascinated by the idea of ballet as exercise to get a ballerina body.  I found this work-out DVD and I find it to be an interesting approach to toning and becoming more graceful in general.  So, sign me up for anything ballerina related and I can't wait to buy tutus for my nieces.
