On My Radar No. 29

The rich tones of fall collections always feel so substantial after summer.  I'm ready to stock my closet with boots and rich colors.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, I'll be in tennis overload watching the US Open!

Dessert Cravings

I'm having a definite craving for sweets lately with end of summer tarts, cobblers, and creamy coconut puddings topping the list.

Outfit Inspiration: Shopbop for Joe's Jeans

I saved photos from this Shopbop lookbook for Joe's Jeans ages ago.  The looks are all so chic, pulled together, and yet relaxed and disheveled.  The perfect layering for the pending fall season.

Interior Inspiration: Wallpaper Panels

Using wallpaper as panels is a quick way to add color and personality to a space without committing to wallpaper paste.  It's also great for renters because you can easily take it with you.  (Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook has a great tutorial for mounting wallpaper panels with acrylic.)

This is also a great excuse to go to a local wallpaper supplier and check out their remnants.

Interior of the Week

Loving this house tour of designer Annie Brahler's Victorian home in Jacsonville.  The home is updated with modern touches and a sharp palette.

On My Radar No. 28

I love the influence of menswear and think it's great for adding a little intrigue.  It's interesting that the weekender from Everlane (my new obsession) is perfectly marketed to both genders, while Molton Brown's Re-Charge Black Pepper Body Wash is only marketed to men and yet is beloved by many women. . .

Cole & Son Wallpapers

I love Cole & Son wallpapers, particularly the more organic patterns.  They have such depth and interest.

Interior of the Week

I've been wanting to get the book 'Restoring a House in the City', and with inspiration like this incredible staircase, how could you not?

On My Radar No. 27

The end of summer calls for a little gold and a nautical twist.  I can never resist a stripe. . .

Loving the site Everlane, basics made with quality materials without the added cost.  The quality of a $50 tee for only $15.  The softest cotton and the best fit without all the pretension.

Be sure to join Everlane here.

Braid Wednesday

Have you heard of the flickr group 'braid wednesday'?  I was let in on the fun by Kate Miss.  It's such a fun way to break up the middle of the week and try some new techniques.  Once you have the basic skills you can freeform all kinds of crazy braids.

Here is some inspiration for Braid Wednesday:

Coffee Connoisseur

Do you have a favorite way to prepare your coffee?  In my house we have a basic drip coffee maker, French press, Japanese drip pot, and a stove-top espresso.  I know, we just keep finding new ways to make coffee.  My favorite is the Japanese drip pot which gives the cleanest profile and the smoothest coffee, but I usually use my French press because it's less hassle.

Do you have a favorite method?

Interior of the Week

I love cozy dining spaces: the wood beams in the ceiling, the hutch, and the dark woods all combine to make this dining room a lovely space.

On My Radar No. 26

I finally bought a J.Crew Keeper Chambray Shirt yesterday.  It's a classic and I can't wait to wear it out this fall.  I also snagged a Coach 'Willis' bag this past weekend, Ebay is dangerous that way.  But my wishlist only seems to get longer, even when I do get to cross my top picks off. . .

Back to Basics: Classic White Shirt

I've been searching for the perfect white shirt.  One you can dress up or dress down.  So far, it looks like J.Crew might be the best bet.

Up in the Air Somewhere

The paper mach√© bowl sets from Up in the Air Somewhere are perfect for the lovely knickknacks we all seem to acquire.  And who can resist a gold chevron tray?
