Have a Great Weekend!

Bar Cart | Style Me Whimsy
It's another heat wave and I'm still on the fence about this summer heat, it beats the snow, but can't mellow temperatures last a little longer. . .  Do you have any plans for the last weekend of June?
Here are a few links from the week:

Made it to the She & Him concert on last Tuesday, loved the encore 'Sunday Girl'

Bought a bottle of Kraken dark spiced rum, it's just begging to be mixed with ginger beer

Still reeling from Federer's loss, Black Wednesday indeed

Interesting comparison of Farrow & Ball paint colors to the Benjamin Moore colors

DOMA's demise was just a matter of time, it just needed to get on the docket

In definite need of a bar cart, a tray just isn't cutting it. . .

Interior of the Week

This kitchen from designer Young Huh is actually brand new.  The clients wanted a 'lived-in, homey look' without sacrificing modern amenities.  Wouldn't it be just lovely if everything new could incorporate modern function with charm and quality workmanship?

Happy Weekend!

I'm headed to the farmer's market tomorrow morning (finally, I keep sleeping in. . .) and then it's off to Riverton for a fun day with my sister to celebrate her birthday last week.  We're planning to see Now You See Me and try some donuts at Beyond Glazed.  Have a great weekend!

Interior of the Week

This bright, graphic living room has a great mix of minimalism and warmth.  I love the extra seating a bench can provide without overwhelming the space.  I'll definitely be on the lookout for benches at this summer's flea markets and tag sales.

Happy Friday!

Hoping to check out the Farmer's Market tomorrow morning and possibly a dueling piano bar with friends tomorrow night.  It should be a relaxing weekend after one of those weeks where the days were long but the week was short.

June Resolutions

June is almost half-way over, this year is just flying by. While I miss the good old days of getting a summer break from school, I'm still trying to make the most of this summer while working 9 to 5.

Summer reading (a Christmas gift from my lovely sister), drinking Pimm's while watching Wimbledon, and brainstorming endless ideas. . . Here's to June!

Do you do anything special to kick off the summer season?

Interior Inspiration: Large Scale Photographs

Although I have been a fan of salon or gallery walls in the past, I have recently been drawn to the more dramatic large scale photographs.  They fill the space in a much more minimalist way and allow for a more dramatic expression of the subject.  Gallery walls can be great if you have a lot of smaller art collected over the years, but I think it's great to invest in some large scale pieces, as well.
