Interior Inspiration
I used to think that I loved mid-century modern. However, I have found that Pinterest not only allows you to track all your inspiration but also to hone your taste and pull together a collective vision, if you will. (I know I talk obsessively about Pinterest.) It's been interesting to see many of my favorite interiors are actually quite traditional, but remain modern through crisp whites and clean lines.

Interior Inspiration
I was going through one of my Pinterest folders and noticed these had duplicates. I guess that's one way to know you really like it. . .

Entry Inspiration
One of my favorite sources of inspiration is, of course, Pinterest. (P.S. I'm dying to get to 500 followers!) I've been wanting to add some hooks near my front door, but never thought to stack them vertically. I've also become somewhat of a hat collector, a Cuyana panama hat is in the mail for my US Open trip. This is the perfect way to display some hats or scarves and add some interest to the entryway.

Colonial Williamsburg
I hadn't thought of visiting Colonial Williamsburg until I saw the gorgeous pictures from Jenny Komenda's weekend trip. The living-history museum is a 301-acre Historic Area including buildings dating from 1699 to 1780, showcasing and preserving Colonial and Colonial Revival architecture. The vibrant colors, stunning wallpapers, and bold combinations are highlighted by the high ceilings and decorative moldings. The rich, authentic paint palette is currently available through Benjamin Moore's Williamsburg Color Collection. I think a little classic Americana is ideal for inspiration.

Interior Inspiration: Large Scale Photographs
Although I have been a fan of salon or gallery walls in the past, I have recently been drawn to the more dramatic large scale photographs. They fill the space in a much more minimalist way and allow for a more dramatic expression of the subject. Gallery walls can be great if you have a lot of smaller art collected over the years, but I think it's great to invest in some large scale pieces, as well.

Interior Inspiration: Wallpaper Panels
Using wallpaper as panels is a quick way to add color and personality to a space without committing to wallpaper paste. It's also great for renters because you can easily take it with you. (Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook has a great tutorial for mounting wallpaper panels with acrylic.)
This is also a great excuse to go to a local wallpaper supplier and check out their remnants.

Interior Inspiration: Thonet Chairs
I've recently noticed that many of my pins contain Thonet chairs. The classic cafe chair was created by Michael Thonet in the 1859, who perfected bentwood designs. It has been consistently produced for over 150 years.
I love their simplistic elegance and classic lines. Le Corbusier said the chair had 'class' and I would definitely agree.

Interior Inspiration: Yellow Doors
There is something to be said for the pop of interest allowed by painted doors, whether it is a crisp white, moody black, or a lively yellow. It's a fun way to add color and personality to any space.

Interior Inspiration: Drapes
I love the warmth and color that drapes can provide to a room. While it can be nice to have simple, clean blinds in a room, you can't beat the drama of great drapes.

Interior Inspiration: Wallpaper
Wallpaper can be tricky. It takes a bit of chutzpah to pull it off. But if you can handle it and pick a beautiful wallpaper, nothing adds more warmth and personality to a space.
Although wallpaper can be pricey, it can be added in smaller spaces, such as, to the back of a bookcase or even just framing a large remnant of wallpaper to hang on the wall.

Interior Inspiration: Tulip Tables
I think tulip tables are the bee's knees.
"In a 1956 cover story in Time magazine, Eero Saarinen said he was designing a collection to clear up the slum of legs in the U.S. home." (DWR)
Saarinen's tables do just that; they have a streamlining effect and avoid visual clutter in the space. They are so classic and can come in many variations. Whether you get the real deal or a decent Ikea knock-off this table design is timeless.

Izola
These lovely soap dishes from Izola are so fun. They would be great to hold jewelry or your keys when you get home.
